Organic Dragonwell Tea
ORIGIN Hangzhou, China Dragonwell, also known as Long Jing, is one of the "10 famous teas" of China. The original growing area for Dragonwell is Hangzhou, Zhejiang. More recently, Xifeng, near Hangzhou has been procucing this tea.
THE ART OF HAND ROASTING In making Dragonwell, newly sprouted tea leaves are hand roasted in a wok to give them a flat, shiny appearance. This traditional and artisanal technique determines the flavor profile and value of the tea. It takes about one hour to roast each pound of tea.
FLAVOR PROFILE Rich, toasty aroma. Makes a buttery brew with flavor reminiscent of roasted chestnuts.
BREWING Brew one level teaspoon of Dragonwell in 8 oz of pure water at 175 degrees F for four minutes. The leaves can be reinfused at least three times.
