JOURNAL WRITING... 8.4.2009

Even when I was little I was never really one to write in a journal. I had many of them don't get me wrong, but all were mostly empty with only writing on the first page or so. When we decided to create our website it was an absolute must that there be a journal. Now that we have it, I feel once again like a little girl with only the first page written on. Though now the difference is I am all grown up with a husband that keeps getting on my case about writing the next journal entry...so here I am.
This summer has kept us very busy in the shop. Since Stefano and I returned from Italy and Paris in June it has been non stop. That's a really good thing!!! We were so lucky that this summer we had the opportunity to work with some really great young people. It is very important to note that they were young. They brought so much energy and fresh ideas to the store, it was really an amazing experience for us and I think for them too. With them in the store we were able to finish the website and bring in the mozzarella di bufala. Those are two big accomplishments, but behind the scenes there were many more.
The dinners have been going very well and keeping us very busy. The other week we had a special story...We had two customers come to our Trattoria to celebrate their engagement. It was a surprise for the women. The man brought her to Bedford Springs Resort for the weekend and popped the big question there. After a romantic stay at the resort they decided to dine here. The bride-to-be was glowing the whole night. We often have people dine with us for special occasions, but this was just the top for us too.
Now August is here already. Just yesterday, we went to the airport to pick up two of our friends from Italy that will be staying with us for about a month. We are very excited to see them and spend time with them. But, it is great for our store too. They always bring with them new ideas and trends from Italy. Most of all they bring recipes, family recipes that we can't wait to play with and try out on our customers for our Saturday night Trattoria dinners.

FINALLY A WEBSITE!!! 7.2.2009

A website...we are so excited. Two years ago we didn't even want to open our store without a website, but we did. Somehow, even with this economy, we have kept so busy with our actual shop that just now our website is being added.
About a year ago, one year after opening the store, we decided to serve dinners every Saturday night, our Trattoria. We have been very blessed with the success, and now do even private parties during the week. This past June we were hosting about 3 dinners a week!
Now, one year after the Trattoria, is our website...
